ABSTRACT
The article presents the statement issued by 1985 Nieman fellow Philip J. Hilts concerning the publication of his book "Rx for Survival: Why We Must Rise to the Global Health Challenge," in 2006. Hilts serves as a health and science reporter for both "The New York Times" and "The Washington Post." He won the 2003 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Science and Technology for his book "Protecting America's Health: The FDA, Business and One Hundred Years of Regulation."
