The article comments on the decision of Tessa Jowell, the secretary of state for culture, media and sports in Great Britain, to ban advertisements of junk foods in Great Britain. Several letters were written by chief executive officers (CEOs) of ITV, Channel 4 and five others to Jowell for considering the commercial repercussions of her decisions. However, CEOs forgot to mention the fact in their letters that products are legally and freely available on sale to the public. The companies should be allowed the freedom to promote their products because the products are subject to the law of the land.
