ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increased sales registered by United Microelectronics Corp. in June 2006. On a sequential basis, sales were up 3.3 percent over May, which also marked a good month for the company. The world's second largest foundry continued its positive growth on a running basis. For the first half of the calendar year, the company's sales were 26.2 percent higher to $1.5 billion than $1.2 billion in the same time period last year.
