The article focuses on the effort given by LaSalle County Generating Station at north central Illinois, continuing the tradition of forging new paths. The station, which was built as a two-unit boiling water reactor (BWR), played an integral part in the nuclear industry through special testing of new equipment and processes. According to sources, General Electric recognized LaSalle Units 1 and 2 as among the most efficient BWR in the world.
