The article focuses on the contribution of singer Elton John to the orchestral experiences of composer James Newton Howard. In the 1970s, Howard toured and recorded with John. Howard was as well permitted to do John's orchestrations. Howard played keyboards for John from 1975 to 1976. Howard also handled the string arrangements on the song "Don't Go Breaking My Heart."
