The article features the Mediterranean way of eating as significant in Alzheimer's disease prevention. A new study from Columbia University Medical Center in New York City followed 2,258 older people for four years. The researchers found that participants whose diets most closely resembled a Mediterranean diet, which is rich in fruits and vegetables, fish, olive oil, whole grains and legumes, were 40% less likely to develop Alzheimer's than those whose diets were the least Mediterranean-like.
