ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the debate in Netherlands concerning the expansion of nuclear energy in the country. Those in favor of expansion argue that the establishment of nuclear power plants will generate more electricity to supply the power requirements of the country. Those against expansion doubt that nuclear energy is a cheap power resource, and that the planned expansion will only perpetuate the reach of oil companies. Given the positions of both sides, it is foreseen that the Dutch Parliament will approve the building of nuclear power plants.
