ABSTRACT
The article focuses on motion picture director David Ellis' passion for surfing. Ellis has long dreamt of directing a movie about surfing but for the meantime shooting the opening scene for "Snakes on a Plane" would do. Ellis grew up in Malibu and was taught how to surf by his father. He eventually turned professional and became a stuntman for films that include "Patriot Game." He directed his first movie "Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco" in 1996.
