ABSTRACT
The article reports on the controversy surrounding the blockbuster Egyptian film "The Yacoubian Building." Some 112 members of the Egyptian Parliament have demanded cuts to the movie because of its depiction of homosexuality. The film also tackled issues such as Islamic fundamentalism, police brutality and political corruption.
