The article focuses on the supreme court decisions regarding lawsuits filed against tobacco firms in the U.S. The Florida Supreme Court overturned about $145 billion judgment awarded to smokers several years ago. The Idaho district court ruled that binding arbitration must be submitted by the state to resolve a dispute with tobacco companies over reduced 2006 payments made to states under the terms of the Master Settlement Agreement.
