Spansion sees profit in NROM

The article reports that Spansion LLC, a flash memory business company, is hoping to get profits with help of Mirrorbit, its Nitrided Read Only Memory technology. Tom Eby, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer of Spansion said that in first quarter of 2005 Mirrorbit accounted for 15% of the company's revenues; in the first quarter of 2006 Mirrobit was 35% of revenues and it would be 50% by the end of the year. The Spansion process roadmap is to begin the 65nm ramp in the first half of 2007 and the 45nm ramp in 2008.
