ABSTRACT
The article reports developments concerning the agreement by EMI Group PLC and Warner Music Inc. on a merger package. These two companies are expected to reach a deal within days and certain shareholders have begun to consider to lead the operation for the merger. Meanwhile, Eclectica Asset Management, a firm that owns 2 percent of EMI and a smaller stake in Warner, suggested that Warner CEO Edgar Bronfman is better qualified than Eric Nicoli of EMI to lead the operation because of his track record in creating shareholder value.
