ABSTRACT
This article reports on Iraqis who feel the need to obtain false identification cards in order to feel safe. By law, all Iraqis carry jinsiyas, or national ID cards. However, having certain names on your card at certain checkpoints can get you killed by rival sects. Therefore, many Iraqis are paying for, or making their own, false identification cards with neutral names.
