ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the advertising industry in Great Britain. Cannes Advertising Festival is said to be one of the few events at which it feels genuinely good to be British. Year after year, British agencies and production companies won handfuls of Lion. But now production budgets in the country are being squeezed hard. The competition is prohibitively fierce. However, production companies are adapting new business models to cater for the rise of new technologies such as digital advertising. Budgets may be small, but pretty soon digital will be a major battlefield on which British production companies compete with each other and the world.
