ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the methods used for imparting sex education in public schools. Sex education should form a part of regular educational courses to have a much broader educational purpose. Initiation of a sex education program should start by teaching students about reproduction in lower animals and plants and then concentrating on human reproduction. A teacher should present the social implications of sex with sincerity and conviction. Students should be taught of loyalties, family ideals, self-respect and self-restraint rather than about dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. High school students should be given individual lectures. Parents should also be made aware of the sex education program and methods and procedures used in the program. The teacher who is conducting such classes should be a regular staff member and be aware of normal aspects of the school.
