ABSTRACT
The article provides an update of issues and events related to the chemicals industry in the U.S. and in Europe. Milliken Chemical, Nova Chemicals and Rohm and Haas have been presented with the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care Leadership Awards. Vinyls producer Oxy Vinyls plans to reduce the emissions of vinyl chloride at its plants in Texas, Kentucky and New Jersey and will carry out three environmental projects that will cut vinyl chloride emissions by some 18,000 ton/year.
