The article presents updates on chemical prices worldwide. Negotiations for third quarter styrene butadiene rubber contracts in Asia were deadlocked in June 2006, with settlements hampered by a widening $100-150/tonne price gap between buyers and producers. Solutia will increase the price on all nylon carpet fibre products by 5-7% for all shipments from 5 July 2006. Sabic, producer of monoethylene glycol, has nominated its July Asian contract price up 4.6% at $910/tonne CFR Asia.
