BP pushes biofuel accelerator

The article reports on the developments in the biofuel industry. Japan will soon seek legislation requiring all new vehicles to be able to run on gasoline with 10% bioethanol content by 2030. This compares with European Union's 5.75% target for transport fuels by 2010. Australia has a target to produce 350m liter/year of biofuels by 2010 and expects to have 10% bioethanol fuel on sale across the country from 2008.
