ABSTRACT
The article reports that the hurricane season has affected aromatics prices in 2006. Benzene numbers soared to $3.66/gallon (gal.), while toluene reached $3.30/gal. In Asia, July trade was concluded at $1000 and $1020/tonne free-on-board Korea--over $100/tonne higher than a few days earlier. Toluene and isomer xylene both leapt around $50/tonne. Producers are still reeling from the after-effects of last year's onslaught, when a record 28 storms--15 of them hurricanes--battered the Gulf Coast.
