ABSTRACT
The article reports on the disclosure of UMC on June 12, 2006 of its continued spring growth in the month of May 2006, which saw revenues climb 31.46 percent year-over-year. Sales of $264 million or 8.5 billion new Taiwanese dollars, also climbed quarter-over-quarter, but at a much less significant 0.48 percent. The foundry's chief rival, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, is slated to report its May 2006 sales in June 2006.
