Akimbo gets into the 'Homezone'

The article reports on IPTV specialist Akimbo Systems Inc.'s entering a deal to offer downloadable content for AT&T Corp.'s Homezone television service. The Homezone service consists of a hybrid set-top from 2Wire. EchoStar Communications Corp. will be providing the content to the set top via landline DSL. Movies and other video will be obtained from a range of sources like Akimbo and Movielink. AT&T is also expected to provide U-Verse, a full-on PP-based video service employing set-tops from Motorola Inc. and Scientific Atlanta.
