VOD audience measurements inching closer

The article reports that audience measurements linked to the video-on-demand (VOD) is starting to take several steps forward. At the National Association of Broadcasters confab, held in Las Vegas, Nielsen Media Research Inc. and tech partner Anystream Inc. demonstrated how close VOD audience measurement is and showed off the progress they have made since inking a non-exclusive arrangement in 2005. It is to be noted that the VOD activity of Nielsen is an extension of a plan with digital TV that includes the use of audio "watermarking," which stamps programming with its source and how it should be applied toward viewing credits.
