ABSTRACT
The article reports that veteran John Lappington of the broadband industry has been appointed as the president of EGT Inc. Lappington is going to replace Greg Nicholson. Prior to his appointment, Lappington was an employee of the chip company Broadcom Corp. He joined this chip company in 2000, when it purchased Digital Furnace, a software platform that targeted to triple upstream capacity of cable modern service without the need for expensive plant upgrades. He opined that he will help guide EGT through a "strategic growth" phase.
