ABSTRACT
The article presents information on B.K.S. Iyengar and his yoga methods. The author in the article was first introduced to the Iyengar method in 1977, whose yoga methods freed the author from various ailments including nagging back and shoulder pain. Iyengar was a student of Sri Krishnamacharya, and Krishnamacharya revived the Astanga Yoga teachings in the Twenty-first Century. Iyengar's contribution lies in the refined practice of poses and breadth control. He is known as the "Michelangelo of yoga," and was crowned the Emperor of Yoga, by the Indian government.
