ABSTRACT
The article examines the antiangiogenic activity of rofecoxib in colorectal cancer liver metastases by dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging. It has been suggested that one mechanism of action of the cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor in the metastases might be inhibition of angiogenesis. It was also hypothesized that increased levels of endogenous antiangiogenic factors like endostatin have mediated the antiangiogenic activity of rofecoxib.
