ABSTRACT
The article presents the plans to rebuild and restart the Windimura mine and processing plant by the Precious Metals Australia (PMA) in Western Australia. The decision came when PMA received the board's approval following a protacted legal dispute which PMA won against its former partner Xstrata. The cost to rebuild the mine is estimated at A#x0024;203 million and additional A#x0024; 46 million for contingency purposes. The Windimura mine contains iron magnetite consisting of vanadium and titanium. The iron concentrate may be sold for its iron content to Chinese steel mills.
