ABSTRACT
The article reports on the condition of the motion picture industry in Europe as of July 2006. It is noted that Europeans are still watching their own films, and production is around 700 features a year in West Europe. In some countries, like Great Britain and France, local films' box-office share in 2006 was between 20 percent and 35 percent.
