ABSTRACT
The article reports that European independent film distributors have met in Brussels, Belgium to come up with a definition of "independent" in order narrow eligibility for aid from the European Union's Media program. Media Plus is expected to grant $107 million in aid in 2006. More than half of that grant will go to assist distributors, exhibitors and exporters in distributing European films.
