ABSTRACT
The article reports that the first sale of private-activity bonds under the Golf Opportunity (GO) Zone Act of 2005 in Alabama will provide $2.6 million of tax-exempt financing for a new 42-room Best Western hotel in Demopolis. Standard & Poor's Ratings Services company rated the bonds A/A-1. The GO Zone bonds can be used for qualified residential rental projects and public utilities.
