ABSTRACT
The article reports on a bill signed by Governor Frank Murkowski that will broaden the powers of the Knik Arm Bridge and Toll Authority to finance a new bridge in Alaska. This bridge will link Anchorage, Alaska with undeveloped areas of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough that lies across the Knik Arm. As authorized by the bill, the authority will set tolls, enter into public-private partnerships and obtain loans from the federal Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act program.
