ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of the U.S. Treasury Department to pay down $6.995 billion at its weekly auction of 91-day and 182-day discount bills. The department can do the payment by selling $29 billion to refund $35.955 billion in maturing securities. To be sold are $15 billion of 91's, dated June 22, 2006 and due September 21, 2006 and $14 billion of 182's, dated June 22, 2006 and due December 21, 2006.
