ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Michelin SA to hold its annual Challenge Bibendum, the rally for green cars, despite the May 26, 2006 death of Edouard Michelin, the company's joint managing director. Michelin, 42, who died in a boating accident off the coast of France, was passionate about the environment. Michelin spokeswoman Lynn Mann said this year's event, scheduled for the weekend of June 9 in Paris, will go on as scheduled. Edouard Michelin's successor, Michel Rollier, is expected to attend the Bibendum, but it is not clear whether he will stand in for Michelin.
