The article focuses on the box office revenue collected by "The Da Vinci Code" and "Over the Hedge," the recently released motion pictures. On its opening weekend, "Da Vinci" found fans in vast numbers as the Columbia Pictures Entertainment Inc. and Imagine Entertainment produced thriller grossed a stellar $77.1 million to land the top spot. The Tom Hanks starrer, based on the fictional and sometimes controversial novel by Dan Brown, generated a stout per-theater average of $20,635. On the other hand, "Over the Hedge," from DreamWorks Animation Inc., found $38.5 million and the second spot on its debut.
