ABSTRACT
The article offers a look at the state of the styrene market in Europe. The market clearly needs a new high volume application for styrene. The polystyrene (PS) market is in the doldrums, with demand growth stagnant and profitability poor. Styrene is used to manufacture PS, but the thermoplastic polymer is increasingly being overlooked for cheaper, more versatile alternatives.
