ABSTRACT
The article reports the plan of the officials of China to phase out Persistant Organic Pollutants (POP) as part of its commitment to the Stockholm Convention. State Environmental Protection Administration deputy commissioner Zhang Lijun said that China aims to stop the production and use of POP such as chlordane and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane within five to 10 years.
