ABSTRACT
The article presents information on new projects related to the chemical industry. Indian Oil Corp. has received board approval for its refinery cum-petrochemicals complex in Paradip, Orissa, India. South Korea's Samsung and Germany's Uhde have made it to the advanced stage of evaluation for the polyethylene unit which will use Nova Chemical technology. Samsung and Italy's Tecnimont are competing for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract for polypropylene units. INSET: CONSORTIUM WINS CONTRACT.
