ABSTRACT
The article reports on the preliminary consumer sentiment index reading for June 2006 released by the University of Michigan in the U.S. The index showed a reading of 82.4, a slight increase from the previous reading of 79.1 in May. However, in a poll result, economists predicted a 79.0 reading and an expected index of 69.0.
