The article presents information related to the World's largest and most successful motion picture festival, which was held in April 2006. Throughout its history, the festival has had the important dual role of introducing Turkish actors and actresses, audiences and cinema to the world, while also becoming a barometer for the progress of indigenous cinema, particularly in the last decade. The festival also provides an invaluable space for continued interaction between the different cultural and national genres. The festival was almost a paradise for cinema lovers, both taking on the mission of cinema as art and also having recent films in its programme, drawing crowds.
