ABSTRACT
Presents the former United States president's reply to two letters of February 1891, whose writers opposed the free coinage of silver in the United States. His opposition in each letter to this silver policy proposed by Congress; Response to E. Ellerly Anderson on February 10, 1891, regarding New York City businessmen's opposition to free coinage of silver; Response to William F. Villas on February 18, 1891, criticizing Democrats' support for free coinage of silver.
