Reports on the possible deployment of the OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP) interactive television technology in cable televisions in the U.S. Efforts of several cable television companies to prepare for the adoption of OCAP such as the creation of a nationwide system for interactive television applications by Time Warner; Predictable barriers facing the deployment of the technology including the interfaces layering that will allow Internet Protocol-based data to stream onto a television device; Involvement of ABC Interactive in the testing and demonstration of OCAP.
