ABSTRACT
The article discusses the business potential of the increasing water supply demand. Portfolio manager John I. Dickerson warns about water shortages every chance he gets. And the biggest needs are in developing countries. Only 20% of the world has running water for residences. There are two types of water investments, water utilities, which provide the stuff, and water industrials, which service the utilities with engineering, construction, pumps, pipes and filters. Among water utilities, Veolia Environnement is the largest water company in the world, with water revenue of $13.9 billion, 40% of revenue.
