Portland Trail Blazers Owners, Arena Group Agree to Try to Sell Assets Jointly

The article reports that the owners of the basketball team Portland Trail Blazers and the owners of its arena, the Rose Garden, have announced that they would cooperate to sell their properties together. Portland Trail Blazers is owned by Vulcan Inc. Vulcan officials have been saying that the public financial support is needed to keep the team in Portland, Oregon. All revenues from suites, club seats, and concessions is likely to go to the arena. Portland Mayor Tom Potter commented that professional sports funding is not a priority when government budgets are under tremendous pressures.
