The study is directed to the Ottoman modernization's forming a structural contrariety, when considered from the cultural perspective. The main reality behind the modernization's painful beginning and continuity results from the complex situation which arises because of the desire to substitute the distinctive cultural structure for the central culture. Adding to the dominant cultural pattern caused the development of modernity in an unproductive way thus causing the fruitfulness of it. In the study, the effect of structural contrariety in the painful development of modernity will be examined.
