ABSTRACT
The debate in Islamic philosophy about the basis to afterlife and immortality were lively and intersting two. According to Moses Maimonides we must belief that afterlife and immortality are possible but we must know that as such are incapable of demostration. He did not require a believe in the phscial afterlife and immortality, on the other hand he distinguishes two kinds of intelligence in man, the one material in the sense of being dependent on, and influenced by, the body, and the other immaterial, that is, independent of the bodily organism. The latter is a direct emanation from the active intellect. It is acquired as the result of the efforts of the soul to attain immortality.
