ABSTRACT
The article reports on the merger of the two banks Regions Financial Corp. and AmSouth Bancorp. in Alabama. The new formed company will take the name Regions Financial Corp. and will have 140 billion dollars in assets with 100 billion dollars in deposits. It will offer mixed businesses including retail and commercial banking, trust and asset management, securities brokerage, and mortgage and insurance services.
