ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the music career of the musical group Dixie Chicks. The group's first single "Not Ready to Make Nice," which addresses the Bush administration, hit the top 30 in charts during its inaugural week, yet, quickly dropped to the spot thereafter. The group campaigns for the second music release "Taking the Long Way," and is going after an audience different from the one on which they built their career. Meanwhile, country radio in the U.S. has ignored the group's first two singles because of the Bush bashing the group has allegedly been making.
