ABSTRACT
The article profiles poet Lucie Spède. The mother of two sons and a daughter, Spède first wrote stories and poems for them, and later continued to publish books for children and adolescents. A number of her works, including plays as well as stories and poems, have been broadcast in Belgium and other Francophone countries and have earned her several awards. Spède's literary career has been enhanced by her work as a publicity writer and translator. Her poems explore a variety of subjects, but the celebration of life in all its manifestations forms a common thread throughout her work.
