ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study of the U.S. Department of Education indicating the decline in the national dropout rate contrary to popular impressions. Data also indicates that the inequality between black and dropout rates is decreasing. The result was confirmed by the National Center for Education Statistics, the pioneer in attempting to measure the number of the students who fail to complete their education.
