ABSTRACT
The article reports on the growing competition among cellular telephone companies Cingular Wireless LLC, Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel Corp. and T-Mobile USA Inc. in the U.S. market. The monthly fees for T-Mobile USA is the least expensive among other providers. Cingular and Verizon Wireless offer similar service with the same number of minutes for the same price. Carriers have dropped cheap postpaid plans in order to improve their average revenue per user through pushing customers to higher price plans.
