ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the impact of procedurals on television programs in the U.S. According to the author, a lot of procedurals have standalone episodes with serialized characters. Though it lessens the pressure of a viewer to tune in each week, procedurals encourage viewing by serializing the characters. It has been observed that Emmy voters are still fond of serialized television programs.
